Dale Earnhardt Jr. defends NASCAR driver who accidentally dropped American flag

No, Brad Keselowski didn’t drop the American flag on purpose after he claimed victory in Sunday’s Kobalt 400. It was the wind — there were gusts up to 40 mph around the time the race ended — that sent the stars and stripes to the ground during his post-race burnout.

So Keselowski made the right call: He immediately unstrapped himself from his car, ran out and picked it up.

What’s the problem, you ask? For some reason, someone called out the NASCAR driver for the gaffe, so Keselowski responded respectfully:

there are millions in the USA that don't salute the American flag.that should be an issue.that should be top headlines.

@Tombo, I agree with everything that you said.

I honestly can't believe people have nothing better to do with their life than get mad at Keselowski for dropping the flag. Keselowski did nothing wrong. There was strong wind all race, and the wind just blew the flag away at the end.

Society today is going overboard. Every little thing becomes a huge story nowadays, it's ridiculous. The dropping of the flag shouldn't even have been a story.

it was an accident do to the wind.im surprised to hear much about it.i think the media is making it a big deal.us real Americans know he didn't do it on purpose.

us Americans need to stand together on issues like this and remind people what America is about.its about more than when an nascar driver drops the flag by force of nature.you could see the flagpoles in the background during the whole race about to snap because of the wind too.

why don't they keep focus on all the nfl, nba, and mlb players that are murdering, beating their spouses, raping, ect.

what they should be talking about is how we had to watch 45 minutes of commercials..

Congratulations to Joey Logano for his victory in Richmond. Of course, we all knew it was only a matter of time. Richmond wasn't a barn-burner but it was a good race. Anyone who expects a barn-burner every time will be disappointed. In fact, this is…Continue
