I agree Corey, I guess we'll see how this plays out. I mean congrats to whom ever wins because all the teams bust their ass to win.... just blows my mind

The one issue I see for this round comes in the final race. Talladega. We all know that track can be very hit or miss and this round could very well see a top tontender fall out, through no fault of their own.

I really don't see Newman or anyone else out of the top 8 making it to the final 4.....but I could be wrong...and yes we race fans can all have different opinions and still be a special family :-)  *hugs*

I love the passion I see :). I think the bad greatly out weights the good in this format.

Okay here's an example: I'm a Ryan Newman (please don't hold that against me lol) Ryan Newman wins the Cup. What do you think would happen to the top 5 driver's/owners/sponsors and fans who have watch and fought their way to the top all year.. to loose.?

There might be some tar and feathering, me thinks.

Oh by the way... Go Newman

if they keep this chase it should only be the top 5 or so in reg season points qualify for championship, everyone else, specially the one ones that were 15th,25th,ect. in points, shouldnt.being that far back in points only means one thing ,wether they won a race or not,is they didnt put together a championship contending season.

u have made some valid points, also, rowdy.  but i still feel if a driver is way ahead in points halfway thru the season, so we know who the champion would be, (boring as that might be to some) then that driver really deserves to be champion, because he has earned it.  i know that there are different ways to look at it, and we may all have different ideas, and that is fine.  and we all love racing, it is the glue that sticks us together.  lol

A couple thoughts:

1.  I love the format...it refocuses racing to be "racing"

2.  The entertainment value is what "holds" new fans to the sport

3.  Before the Chase format....we knew who the champion was half way through the season...lol

4.  I don't think anyone will "luck" into a Championship....this format was designed so the drivers who are consistently strong, error free and winning will advance to each round...so only the season's best should be eligible for the Trophy...to me that is a true Champion definition (we shall see how this ends)

i agree with u, tombo,  this is a silly contrived chase format to entertain, not to reflect the true meaning of a champion.  to compare a championship won now to a championship won pre chase is definitely comparing apples to oranges.  i doubt nascar will change it tho.  we don't like it but have to accept it.

i think its a joke.i hope this format is one and done.it was bad enough having 10 races give us our champ but now having just 1 race decide it will never give us a real, well deserved, true champion.

i just read an article about kyle busch and he said himself "my worst season of my career,2012,i would have been champion with this chase format",even he knows he didnt have a championship season that year.

I think the only people who like this set up is NAZCAR themselves. Do you or does anyone know someone that thinks this set up -- "The Chase"-- is just Awesome? I'm thinking very few.
