Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Phoenix - Subway Fresh Fit 500

Now that we're past the first unpredictable plate race of the season, it's time for fantasy racers to buckle down and get series. Last week at Daytona, the Toyotas--specifically those in the Joe Gibbs camp--had various problems that has to make you wonder whether or not they will carry into Phoenix this weekend. Remember that, to the dismay of fantasy owners, Kyle Busch continually had engine problems in 2012.

Phoenix International…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Fontana - Auto Club 400

This week the Auto Club 400 will be held at Auto Club Speedway in California, which will be the only event at the track, a tradition started last season after seven straight years of holding two events annually.Auto Club Speedway opened in 1997 and is a D-shaped two-mile oval, most similar to Michigan in my opinion. Expect the same familiar faces up front on Sunday, with maybe one or two surprises in the mix at one…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Bristol - Food City 500

Get ready for some good old fashioned beating and banging on Sunday afternoon because the Sprint Cup Series is heading to Bristol! Just as a heads up, Brian Vickers is in the #55 Toyota this weekend, so nobody's fantasy rosters are safe. Just kidding--I expect "The Sheriff" to be on best behavior in all of his races this season. Nicknamed "The Bullring," Bristol Motor Speedwayis 0.533-mile race track in Tennessee that…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Las Vegas - Kobalt Tools 400

This week, the drivers of the Sprint Cup Series will be in Sin City for the Kobalt Tools 400. You can gamble on slots in Las Vegas, yes, but I feel like races here are also a good time to do a little gambling in fantasy leagues. Unlike last week in Phoenix, no active driver really dominates at this track on a consistent basis, and there tends to be new faces up front each race (possibly because there's only one event…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Phoenix - Subway Fresh Fit 500

The last time that the Sprint Cup Series visited Phoenix International Raceway was a sort of "first time" for all of the drivers. After the first race here in 2011, the "old Phoenix" was re-constructed into the Phoenix we now know. With a new pavement came some new faces up front as well, with Kasey Kahne grabbing his first win at Phoenix for Red Bull Racing and notching just his…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: 2012 Daytona 500

Even though it seems like just yesterday that NASCAR crowned Tony Stewart as the champion in Homestead, it's already time for the 54th annual Daytona 500, which means it's time to sign up for fantasy teams and get your first rosters locked in. If you're interested in a fantasy racing cash game, I urge you to check out Fantasy-Racing-Online.com. This…

FANTASY NASCAR PREDICTIONS: HOMESTEAD – FORD 400 (CHASE RACE #10) (POST QUALIFYING)

And The 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion Is.....

Three points, two drivers, one champion. Carl Edwards started off this weekend being fast in practice, and brought that over into qualifying where he won his third and final pole for this 2011 season. Martin Truex, Jr. will start beside Cousin Carl on Sunday, and for the…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Homestead - Ford 400

Well, this it it. It's been a fun 2011 season, and this Sunday champions will finally be crowned--both in NASCAR as well as fantasy leagues worldwide. We will have the normal schedule this weekend: two practices on Friday, qualifying Saturday, and then the race on Sunday. I would like to quickly thank everyone that took the time to read my articles this season, and I hope you continue reading next year. Now without…

Fantasy NASCAR Predictions: Phoenix 2 - Kobalt Tools 500 (Chase Race #9) (Post Qualifying)

Where There's Smoke,

There's Fire

Judging by Saturday's qualifying session, the Kobalt Tools 500 definitely has the potential to be a wreck-fest, maybe even worse than the one we had at this track in February. Car after car was sliding around this newly configured Phoenix International Raceway, but it was Matt Kenseth who got the pole for Sunday's event. A.J. Allmendinger…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Phoenix 2 - Kobalt Tools 500

As I'm sure you have heard many times by now, Phoenix International Raceway got a face-lift after the race here in February. There's a great write-up about the changes that Darren Fauth sent me, and if you would like to view that, you can by clicking here. I don't think anybody really knows what…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Texas 2 - AAA Texas 500

I hope you enjoyed last Sunday's caution-filled race at Martinsville Speedway because this weekend's event at Texas Motor Speedway will, more than likely, be what I like to call a snooze-fest. What's good for fantasy owners, though, is that the practice schedule for this event is back to "normal." There will be one session on Friday afternoon followed by qualifying at 4:30 eastern time. Then, on…

Fantasy NASCAR Predictions: Martinsville 2 - Tums Fast Relief 500 (Chase Race #7) (Post Happy Hour)

This Is The Week To Leave Edwards "In The Garage"

There's not much information to go off of this weekend, so I'm going to look at past history as a major indicator for who is going to be good in Sunday's Tums Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway. As you probably read in Ryan's Scouting Report, recent and overall history here is a key factor for predicting who will do…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Martinsville 2 - Tums Fast Relief 500

With 60% of the 2011 Chase For The Sprint Cup completed, I think it'd be safe to say that 60% of the Chase field no longer has a chance at winning this year's championship. The only drivers that I see having a shot of hoisting the title at Homestead-Miami at season's end are the "Fab Five" in the points right now: Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski, Tony Stewart,…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Talladega 2 - Good Sam Club 500

After this weekend's race at Talladega Superspeedway, I think we will be able to confidently eliminate about half of the Chase field's hopes for winning the championship, and maybe even more. The races at these super-speedways are nearly impossible to predict, so as I did in my previous Daytona and Talladega previews, I will be switching up the format for this week's article. Although I view them as borderline…

Fantasy NASCAR Predictions: Kansas 2 – Hollywood Casino 400 (Chase Race #4) (Post Happy Hour)

It's Been A While Since We Saw A Backflip

This weekend the Sprint Cup Series is at Kansas Speedway for the second time in this 2011 season, and for the fourth race in their ten-race playoffs. Brad Keselowski won here in June on a fuel gamble, and gas mileage could easily become a factor in the Hollywood Casino 400 this Sunday. For this week's Predictions, I'm going to shake…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Kansas 2 - Hollywood Casino 400

After two straight weeks of exciting Sprint Cup action, be prepared for what should be a snooze-fest in Kansas this weekend. Kansas Speedway is a relatively young track, having only been on the circuit since 2001, but like most intermediate tracks--especially those that hold races during the…

"Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Dover 2 - AAA 400

Race number three of the 2011 Sprint Cup Series Chase is set to start around 2:15 pm eastern time on Sunday at Dover International Speedway. 400 laps are set to be run around this 1.0-mile race track after two practice sessions (on Friday) and qualifying (on Saturday) are completed. This will be the second--and final--race of the season at "The Monster Mile" and hopefully (in my mind at least) we…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Loudon 2 - Sylvania 300

On Sunday afternoon--for the second and final time this season--the Sprint Cup Series will visit New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the Sylvania 300, the second race in the 2011 Chase. After last week's wild ending in Chicago, the points standings may get shaken up once again on Sunday at "The Magic Mile," as you never know what's going to happen on the small race tracks, where racing is tight all around. A fuel…

Talladega - The Stewart Haas 500

I watched the Talladega race, kind of off and on in between doing dishes and laundry. I know this beloved track has its dedicated fans but I'm sorry folks, I just don't enjoy team racing. I think stock car racing is meant to be an every man for…Continue
