Wonder what the points would look like if NASCAR hadn't "simplified" the points system? Well, here you go. Remember, people like Trevor Bayne would have still accumulated points for their races. The order that these drivers are in is what they would be if NASCAR hadn't changed the points system followed by total points with the change in standing in parenthesis after the point total.
The difference is very minimal, no matter how much NASCAR advertises that this new points system is… Continue

Can Johnson Win Make It Two In A Row At Vegas? He Will Have To Find Speed To Get Past The Roush Boys
Jeff Gordon snapped his 66-race winless streak in Phoenix last week, surviving through a (surprisingly) crash-filled race to take the checkered flag over Kyle Busch. Last week's race ruined many people's rosters with… Continue

Last week, Phoenix International Raceway lived up to it’s expectations in the past few years and ended yet another long winless streak, with Jeff Gordon edging out Kyle Busch in the final laps to score his first victory since 2009. This week, the Sprint Cup drivers head over to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for… Continue

Pocket Tazer Stun Gun, a great gift for the wife.
Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse-sized Tazer.

Back To Reality This Week
Have a bad race last week? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. I actually got negative points for one of my NASCAR.com Fantasy Live rosters. Yes, it was that bad. But fear not: there’s still 35 races to catch back up. Now that we’re getting into more predictable races, it’s time to put… Continue

Sunday will be the final time a race will be held at Phoenix International Raceway before its repaving and reconfiguration, which will begin after the Subway Fresh Fit 500 is completed.
When the Sprint Cup series comes back here in November, drivers will find a wider front-stretch and a reconfigured dogleg… Continue

Let’s Go Racin’, Boys!
Kurt Busch is 2-for-2 this weekend. The elder Busch brother took the win in the Budweiser Shootout, and followed that win up with a win in his Gatorade Duel race. The results of the Bud Shootout can be found by clicking here. In case you missed the Gatorade Duel races on Thursday,… Continue

The start of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season is just around the corner and that can mean only one thing: it’s time to go racing at Daytona! The 53rd “Great American Race” will take place Sunday afternoon on Fox after an entire week of racing–from… Continue

Well this is my first blog post, I will try to keep it simple and not to boring.
Can somebody explain to me how thw new points system is improving anything? It doesn't address the issues with the chase and I find it hard to believe that we the fans were having difficulty understanding the old system, or at least the majority. Seems to me the new system really has changed nothing other than when it comes chase time Nascar can advertise a closer point spread trying to drive up ratings.… Continue

Kevin Harvick, along with Denny Hamlin, finally gave "The Champ" a run for his money in the Chase for the Sprint Cup last year. Many think the sport needs a new champion, and last year was the closest it has been in a while to happening. "Happy" Harvick was pretty happy in 2010, and his phenomenal average finish of 8.67 probably had something to do with his good mood.
Heading into 2011, Kevin Harvick is ranked pretty high on everyone's charts--except mine. I'm not buying the… Continue

That is the one word that sums it all up. Anticipation of that warm sunny Sunday. Anticipation of National anthem with it's fly over and prayer. Anticipation of the starting of the engines. Anticipation of the pace laps that lead us to the green flag. The building of sound as it waves in the air. Louder and louder it grows as they build speed. As they reach turn one they start to spread!… Continue

Because of the difficulty in swapping production for manufactures Nascar decided to hold of the fuel injection program this year and implement it next year. I think it is a good idea to allow them to develop a game plan. This will be a learning curve for all teams. I am glad that it won't be another tale of two seasons like last year. The wing change should have been made right from the get go. That is like changing the football in the middle of a… Continue

I figure since we can't hold a decent conversation on yahoo lately, we would use this space as we do the message board on yahoo. Create a topic and you can even click follow to be notified if a comment is made. It could be the new Yahoo message board or it could be just a temporary fix to the spamming problem. Either way we all are hyped about this new season and this space gives us a place to be hyped.
My leagues are full and I want to to chat Nascar so this is the place to do it… Continue

That is the question. I am crazy about posting on Yahoo, everyone knows that. I see a few blogs created but very few comments attached to them. I went back and looked at the entire blog page and realized there were blogs from Da Goat no one responded to. Not even me. (Sorry Bro)
So with that in mind, I ask what can be done about that. I'm wondering if we can set the page up to show how many views it gets. Then at least the ones who may put time into writing can see if people are even… Continue

With the new pavement will we see 3 wide racing all day? In most cases in recent history the roughness of the track, coupled with the air being buffered in the middle lane, made it a bad place to be hug out. Being IN the middle is not the "IN" place to be. That may not be the case this year by reports from drivers. As we seen in Dega after the repaving, cars would travel in packs of four with no problems. Daytona is not as wide as Dega but 3 wide is very possible now. In fact in my opinion… Continue

2/16/11: Well lookey here. they change the points, AND 1 less over the wall crew member. THIS is getting interesting!
Everyone is tired of one thing or another in NASCAR these days. If it's not Jimmie winning the title every year, it's the COT. If it isn't the COT, it's debris cautions. If not debris cautions, over zealous penalizing. I could go on and on, but I want to tackle… Continue

Translated: We are going to bring this sport back to a time when no one knows who they are.
With the calls made in this chase it appears they are trying to make a joke out of this sport. Bowyer get docked 150 points for driving a car that they say when they did their 5th… Continue

Kyle is a very talented driver who has the capability of winning multiple Sprint Cup Championships. His maturity level is inching along slowly, but it is indeed inching along. He will make some sort of splash in this year's Chase. Kyle has more of a cutting edge about him than his brother Kurt, a former Chase Champion. Both Busch brothers are abnoxious most of the time, but that is a good thing. I would rather back a hated driver than a nice guy, ala Mark Martin or JR. It's the old adiom...nice… Continue

This question has been asked over and over. Some say Kyle Busch....Really? Kyle Busch? Drives with balls of steel, but shows some immaturity at times that tells me he hasn't, and he has a long way to go to be nearly considered.
Jimmie Johnson? Unprecedented 4 straight titles, but he's not really "Intimidator-like" on the track. He's just like.... himself. Did I just say he's vanilla?
There are other drivers you could argue the point on for… Continue

Let's face it, fans are sick of seeing Jimmie Johnson crowned the champion. For NASCAR's sake in the area of fan support, they better hope someone else finally takes the title!
