"I raced mad all day."
Whether Tony Stewart was referring to his beaten-up race car or how he muscled his way to the lead with 2 laps to go, I'm not sure. But one thing that is sure is how he dazzled fans everywhere with the way he charged right past Jimmie Johnson and stole the victory.
On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, 5 cautions happened within the first 100 laps.…Continue

This Is The Week To Leave Edwards "In The Garage"
There's not much information to go off of this weekend, so I'm going to look at past history as a major indicator for who is going to be good in Sunday's Tums Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville Speedway. As you probably read in Ryan's Scouting Report, recent and overall history here is a key factor for predicting who will do…Continue
After a difficult, frustrating week at Talladega for many drivers, the Cup Series heads to yet another unforgiving track in Martinsville Speedway. Despite being the oldest and slowest track in NASCAR, there's no shortage of action here, as drivers are side-by-side all the way around. Ever since 1949, when the track was built, the racing here has featured inches-apart, bumper-to-bumper racing. And when the brakes and tempers are running…Continue

With 60% of the 2011 Chase For The Sprint Cup completed, I think it'd be safe to say that 60% of the Chase field no longer has a chance at winning this year's championship. The only drivers that I see having a shot of hoisting the title at Homestead-Miami at season's end are the "Fab Five" in the points right now: Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski, Tony Stewart,…Continue
Blistering speeds of over 200mph, 72 lead changes, multiple large crashes, a thrilling finish, and an overdue winner finally triumphing over the competition.
Sounds like a typical Talladega race.
The Good Sam Club 500 proved to be a championship-altering one, as 3 more drivers (Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, and Kurt Busch) can be safely counted out of the big picture.…Continue

It's here. The race that teams have marked upon their calenders with a big red circle is now upon us. Being the "wild card" of the Chase, you can't blame 'em for being a little antsy of the largest, fastest, and most unforgiving track on the entire circuit. Since everyone is on equal horsepower at these restrictor-plate races, anyone can pounce on the opportunity of a possible victory. The Good Sam 500 is bound to be full of pure…Continue
After this weekend's race at Talladega Superspeedway, I think we will be able to confidently eliminate about half of the Chase field's hopes for winning the championship, and maybe even more. The races at these super-speedways are nearly impossible to predict, so as I did in my previous Daytona and Talladega previews, I will be switching up the format for this week's article. Although I view them as borderline…Continue

And then there were 3.
While the Chase is still flowing with action and drama, 3 drivers have now separated themselves from the rest of the field, something we haven't seen thus far, in the points standings. After a monotonous race 5 of 10, many more drivers have also realistically knocked themselves out of contention for the 2011 Sprint Cup.
When the green flag dropped at 7:48pm Saturday night, I (and many others)…Continue

Hey Everyone, now as I mentioned yesterday, cause of all the ups and downs I've been having, I'm doing an article on life. So since this is race night, sit back, listen and read my article. After that, you can comment on it, then watch the Cup series race at Charlotte. (i mean you should a taped it, then you skip the commercials!)
So, ever since I was young, i travelled around a lot. I went on a lot of trips, more than 5 fives times a year. Plus, these were all more than a week…Continue
With only 6 races left in the season, drama is building and tempers are flaring as the championship picture has winded down to just 8 drivers separated by 20 points. Most likely, the remaining 35 drivers will just use this and the remaining races to go for wins, and as a test session for 2012. But either way, the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway is sure to be an exciting race.
Located just outside the heart of Charlotte, North Carolina, this is a 1.5-mile quad oval.…Continue
"It was just a matter of time."
Those were the words of Jeff Gordon during an ESPN interview with about 5 laps to go in the Hollywood Casino 400. Gordon, obviously, was talking about his blown engine. But along with his Chevrolet powerhouse, the No. 24's championship hopes went up in smoke.
Despite the fact that Gordon had a top-5 run going, he finished 34th because…Continue

It's Been A While Since We Saw A Backflip
This weekend the Sprint Cup Series is at Kansas Speedway for the second time in this 2011 season, and for the fourth race in their ten-race playoffs. Brad Keselowski won here in June on a fuel gamble, and gas mileage could easily become a factor in the Hollywood Casino 400 this Sunday. For this week's Predictions, I'm going to shake…Continue

Is it me or has the racing gotten very soft lately? This is the top racing series right? Seems to me that the 'boys have at it' approach has had the opposite effect that NASCAR intended. No more do we see drivers taking risks and going three wide, or a driver dive-bombing into a turn to pass someone. The only real bumping we see is at Dega and Daytona, and that's because of the tandem racing. Why are these guys just sitting in their…Continue
After two straight weeks of exciting Sprint Cup action, be prepared for what should be a snooze-fest in Kansas this weekend. Kansas Speedway is a relatively young track, having only been on the circuit since 2001, but like most intermediate tracks--especially those that hold races during the…Continue
After a difficult, frustrating week at Dover for many drivers, the Cup circuit heads to one of the most forgiving tracks on the schedule in Kansas Speedway. One of the newest tracks in the series, this speedy oval has proved to be one of the most thrilling. The races here have been selling out since it's inaugural race ten years ago, and it should come as no surprise that side-by-side racing is the norm here.
Located on Kansas' half of Kansas City, this is a 1.5 mile tri-oval. Banking…Continue
One race. That's all it took to alter the championship picture severely. Just when we thought things had settled down and the true Cup contenders were emerging, Dover threw us a curveball. The AAA 400 proved to be a thrilling one, as two more drivers are virtually out of the running for NASCAR's top prize. But there are also now multiple drivers who are now in…Continue
