"Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Dover 2 - AAA 400

Race number three of the 2011 Sprint Cup Series Chase is set to start around 2:15 pm eastern time on Sunday at Dover International Speedway. 400 laps are set to be run around this 1.0-mile race track after two practice sessions (on Friday) and qualifying (on Saturday) are completed. This will be the second--and final--race of the season at "The Monster Mile" and hopefully (in my mind at least) we…

Dover race preview

After an thrilling week at New Hampshire, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship picture is slowly taking form. Now we go to Dover International Raceway for Chase Race #3, and the AAA 400. For it's size, this is one of the fastest tracks on the schedule. The "Monster Mile" is known for it's lightning-fast speeds , concrete surface, and steep turns.

Located in Dover, Delaware, this is a steep 1-mile oval. Banking in the turns is 24 degrees, while the banking on the 1,076-foot long…

MIKE NEFF ESCAPES DALLAS WITH POINTS LEAD

The Castrol GTX Ford Mustang and Mike Neff will leave the famed Texas Motorplex with the points lead but he got a little help from two unlikely competitors. In the premiere match-up of the first round at the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals, points leader Neff dropped a close race to Matt Hagan, No. 2 in points,…

Into the Mind of a Duhhub: Loudon

"It's over."

Those were the only words Denny Hamlin could muster as he crossed the line for a 29th-place finish on Sunday afternoon. Being now 66 points behind the leader in points, you can't blame him. But those words are true for many others after our most recent Chase race, the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

First, I'll talk about the pre-race.…

Car Wrapping Makes Painting Obsolete In Today's Economy

Joey Logano had just qualified his No. 20 GameStop-sponsored Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota seventh, for the Saturday afternoon Nationwide race at Auto Club Speedway back on Feb. 29, 2009.

Since Logano was able to qualify his primary car, his back-up car would begin a four to six hour transformation in readiment for teammate Denny Hamlin, who would drive it the following weekend in Las Vegas.

The cars originally unloaded from…

Loudon race preview/Chase picks update

Loudon race preview:

With just 9 races left in the Cup season, it's crunch time for all of the drivers. Some are going for a championship, others are just using this as a test session for 2012. But either way, the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway is sure to be an exciting race. As we saw last year, this race affected the championship picture severely, taking Clint Bowyer out of the championship race all…

Into the Mind of a Duhhub: Chicago

Sorry I got this in late. We were busy today, got new shoes and a haircut. But better late than never, so let's review the Geico 400 at Chicagoland through my eyes.

Obviously, the race was supposed to be run on Sunday, but rain postponed it. That's 2 of the past 3 weeks that have been delayed. Honestly, since I'm home-schooled, I don't care about Monday or even Tuesday races. I get to watch them anyways. But I feel real bad for the people who had to miss it, ecspecially the people who…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Loudon 2 - Sylvania 300

On Sunday afternoon--for the second and final time this season--the Sprint Cup Series will visit New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the Sylvania 300, the second race in the 2011 Chase. After last week's wild ending in Chicago, the points standings may get shaken up once again on Sunday at "The Magic Mile," as you never know what's going to happen on the small race tracks, where racing is tight all around. A fuel…

Fantasy NASCAR Predictions: Chicago - Geico 400 (Post Qualifying) (Chase Race #1)

Who Will Grab An Early Points Lead After Chase Race #1?

Now that the potential championship winners have been narrowed down to twelve drivers, NASCAR's version of the playoffs are set to start this Sunday at the Geico 400 at Chicagoland Speedway. This track has only been raced on for the last ten years by the Sprint Cup Series and only two drivers…

NASCAR Says No Evidence Menard Spun Out On Purpose

NASCAR officials said on Saturday there is no evidence to support allegations that Paul Menard spun out intentionally to bring out a caution and affect the finish of last weekend's Sprint Cup race at Richmond International Raceway. Spokesman Kerry Tharp said officials listened to audio of Menard's radio transmission before he spun out with 16 laps remaining and found nothing to indicate he did anything deliberately.(…

For The Past 2 Hours!

I have listened to Larry McReynolds and Kyle Petty lambaste and ridicule Dale Jr and the 88 team stating that in their opinion they do not have what it takes to be competitive in the final 10 races of the Chase. Who the heck to these two run of the mill fools think they are. Especially you Kyle Petty. If you look up in Websters Dictionary under the epitome of a run of the mill driver there is a picture of you.

I know I am running off at the mouth tonight, but I know that Jr is better…

Did RCR Do The Cheap Shot?

"What I heard was something about some communication about needing a caution, not needing a caution, and then they were giving the gaps between me and the 29 car, the distance as I closed in," he said. "I think after I passed them and they said something, and Paul asked, 'Do you need the caution? Don't need the caution?' Then they said 'Go to Channel 2' and then they spun out."

Those were the words of Jeff Gordon after the conclusion of the Richmond Race this past weekend. Now from…

TeamCassRacing To Pay Tribute To Cancer Victims On October 15

Team Cass Racing, who races in the K&N Pro Series West division, is dedicating the October 15th race at All American Speedway in Roseville, CA. to Beating Cancer. The TCR family has been greatly affected by the horrible disease and wants to pay tribute to the family, friends, and fans who have struggled as well.

ROBERT HIGHT READY, EXCITED FOR NHRA COUNTDOWN

The NHRA Countdown starts this weekend and that means that ten Funny Car teams have a chance to win the 2011 NHRA Full Throttle Funny Car Championship. Robert Hight and his Auto Club Ford Mustang proved in 2009 that once you are in it, you can win it, racing from the No 10 spot to his first NHRA Funny Car championship.

Last year Hight also proved that just because you dominate in the regular season, past performance does not guarantee future success as the four-time…

Chicagoland race preview

After a long and turbulent 26 weeks of hard racing, the Chase is finally upon us. The spotlight is now on those in the top 12, and how they will perform in the next ten weeks to come. There's only 1 thing the drivers want after Homestead, and Chicagoland Speedway is the first step towards that ultimate prize.

Located in the city of Joliet, Illinois, this track is a 1.5 mile tri-oval. Banking is 18 degrees in the turns, 11 degrees on the frontstretch, and 5 degrees on the backstretch.…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: Chicago - Geico 400

With NASCAR's regular season coming to an end last Saturday night, it's finally time for the top 12 drivers to buckle down and decide who will be the 2011 champion. This year's Chase kicks off (for the first time) at Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday afternoon, and it may be an interesting race because the Sprint Cup Series has never ran at this track this late into the year. Since 2001, which was when the series…

The Internet Makes It Easier For Fans to Get Up To The Minute Reports

When was the last time you sat back, and looked around at the world that we live in today, and at the same time reflected on just how far we have come in this high-tech society that we live in?

How many different areas in your own lives has the new age world of computers, digital gizmos, and all of the electronic wizardry taken over your everyday life?

Some of the different changes probably had a really big impact, and of course there were those that…

Into the Mind of a Duhhub: Richmond/Chase Picks

Well, I was gone at a local drag race for most of last night, so I only saw the last 100 laps or so. But from what I did see, the Wonderful Pistachios 400 was very exciting. Lots of wrecks had shaken up the field by that time, and guys like David Ragan, Brad Keselowski, and the 'Dinger were running near the front against veterans like Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, and Carl Edwards.

This race had everything, except a G-W-C. It had a great effort from Denny Hamlin, who recovered from that…

Dale Earnhardt Sr; A Tribute Fitting Of A True Legend.......R.I.P.

A legend was born on April 29, 1951. A NASCAR legend to some, but yet to his family he was a son, father, brother, and also a husband.

With a twinkle in his eye, and a devilish grin on his face, Dale Earnhardt Sr. pushed and shoved his way into NASCAR superstardom.

His highly aggressive driving style made him a fan favorite, which was how he earned his nicknames, “Old Iron Head,” “The Man in Black,” and of course the most…

Dale Jr Fights Thru Adversity And Holds Onto Coveted Chase Position

On a night where everything that could go wrong did go wrong, Dale Jr and the 88 team fought off what seemed like endless adversities and held on for the final regular Chase position. It was bad enough that Dale Jr had to fight his way up thru the pack due to another poor qualifying effort, but he had to…
