Kentucky Race Preview

Saturday night races have always been a fan-favorite; ever since they were first introduced back at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the mid-1990s for the annual All-Star event. It brought fans to the sport, and is still a welcome addition to what is normally known as a Sunday afternoon sport. Racing "under the lights" always brings an exciting atmosphere, no matter what track it's on. This week the NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers visit Kentucky…

Fantasy Picks for Quaker State 400 @ Kentucky

This week the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will make their second trip to the Kentucky Speedway.

Last year the race was a disaster for race fans as many of the fans were stuck in traffic and could not make it to the racetrack. They did not miss much! The racetrack only had one groove and resulted in some boring racing.

Hopefully the racing will be better this season.

The most important thing for fantasy NASCAR players to know is that the race will be run on Saturday night.…

Infineon Race Preview

The Sprint Cup Series rarely visits road courses; in fact, in only 2 of the 36 points races do drivers turn right without damaging their cars. But when we do, it produces some of the most interesting and fun racing of the year. NASCAR has always been synonymous with ovals, and courses like these were just occasional add-ons on the schedule. For the past few decades, the circuit has been limited to 2 road courses a year, Watkins Glen in…

Fantasy NASCAR Picks for Sonoma

This week the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series takes a break from making all left turns to take their show to the two mile road course in Sonoma, California.

Last week was a big week in NASCAR. Dale Earnhardt Jr. won his first race in four years. Junior Nation is still celebrating, but they should not get too excited about this week’s race. Earnhardt has not been very good at the road courses in his career. There are plenty of other drivers to choose from. ...…

Michigan Race Preview

Occasionally, racetracks must be repaved; either to cover over a deteriorating surface or to increase competition. It is inevitable, and although most drivers hate it, speeds are often increased and grip is decreased. Last week, we were at Pocono Raceway, and it's new asphalt surface brought up the speeds and created more passing. For race #15 out of 36 on the season, we are at Michigan International Speedway, another repaved speedway…

Pocono Race Preview

There are a handful of tracks on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule that drivers struggle to get a handle of; circuits that are so difficult and unique that they follow after the "minutes to learn, a lifetime to master" quote. Among those tracks are the road courses in Infineon and Watkins Glen, the rectangular-shaped Indianapolis, and this week's track, Pocono. It's the only 3-turn track on the entire schedule, and with three…

Fantasy NASCAR Picks for Pocono 400

Hello NASCAR Nation!

If you followed my advice last week, you had another great week in the Yahoo Fantasy Auto Racing game.

Last week Jimmie Johnson dominated the race at Dover and so did my fantasy NASCAR team.

I started Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle, Mark Martin and Aric Almirola. The lineup was good enough for 349-points (3,851 total points for the season) and kept my team in the top 99% of Yahoo! Fantasy Auto Racing players (Ranked No. 687 overall out of…
