Phoenix Race Preview

If it feels as if we just got done with Speedweeks yesterday, it's because we did. After going into the race schedule version of overtime, the Daytona 500 was finally finished with early Tuesday morning. After over 36 hours of waiting, Matt Kenseth finally took home the checkers. Will his 2009 luck of winning the season's second race carry over this time???

Located in the deserts of Avondale, Arizona, this challenging…

Into the Mind of Duhhub: Daytona 500

Welcome to the 36 Hours of Daytona.

In a season-opener that was scheduled for Sunday afternoon but didn't finish until well after midnight on Tuesday morning, Matt Kenseth took home the victory in dramatic fashion over teammate Greg Biffle. The race, which had been postponed by rain twice before finally taking the green flag at 7:00pm Tuesday, featured a bizarre chain of events before concluding with a…

A Wreck, And An Answered Prayer

As I was watching the Nationwide race just a few minutes ago, I was watching Kurt Busch lead. I really didn't want him to win, he doesn't deserve it. So I prayed that God would let someone else to win, so that He could show that inappropriate behavior can't lead to success. Then Kurt Busch moved up and wrecked everybody who was trying to pass him!!!! I was mad because he wrecked Joey and Trevor, but then I realized that God answered my prayer. James Buescher won, and Kurt Busch now has a…

Fantasy NASCAR Preview: 2012 Daytona 500

Daytona 500/150s Race Previews

It's finally over. Nearly three months after last season's thrilling finale, in which Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards ended in a points tie, Speedweeks are underway. It started with the Budweiser Shootout on Saturday night, when Kyle Busch took the checkers in what proved to be the return of pack racing. Now, as we move into the two qualifying races for the Daytona 500, the Gatorade 150s, anticipation is high and expectations are soaring…

Into the Mind of a Duhhub: Budweiser Shootout

Finally. NASCAR has tried and failed for several years to bring pack racing back to the restrictor-plate tracks, and for the first time since 2008, that's what we saw. Ever since NASCAR changed to the COT, they have had trouble controlling the racing, which had evolved into a two-car draft with a partner. While the two-car tandem occurred for a few laps at a time, the Budweiser Shootout was largely dominated by three-and-four wide…

I Need Your Owners' Points

In the past few weeks, there have been many owner points' swaps. First, Danica Patrick got her points from Tommy Baldwin Racing to lock her into the Daytona 500. Then Red Bull Racing's old owners points were taken by Sinica Motorsports to get themselves into the first 5 races.

Now, Frank Stoddard, owner of the FAS Lane Racing Team, will give Mark Martin and Michael Waltrip his points from his two 2011 teams. That will…

The Physics of NASCAR: Forces and Drafting

Physics is very important in NASCAR. There are several forces used while the cars are on the track, and while they are drafting, which happens at larger tracks.

Centripetal force is very important in NASCAR because it helps keep the car on the track. Centripetal force is a force that makes a body follow a curved path. The tires on the car make friction, and that is part of the centripetal force. However, the centripetal force that keeps the car on the track can…

Another Bridemaid's Bouquet

That was the most fun race of the year so far in my opinion. There were lead changes and passes and lots of hard racing back in the pack and a perfect slide job (Chase) and in the end, it was a gutty strategy call that won the race. Ryan Newman…Continue

Congratulations to Martin Truex, Jr. and Furniture Row Racing. I was happy to see them win the Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas. That team started their take off to the top tier with Kurt Busch behind the wheel and they are continuing to rise with…Continue
