Right now, I believe it would be best for Regan Smith's career if he left Furniture Row Racing. His contract is up after 2012, and he's simply gone as high as he can go with this small team. The best-case scenario is that if Clint Bowyer leaves RCR, there would be an opening with 2/3 sponsorship from 5 Hour-Energy. Furniture Row also has a technical alliance with Childress. But Regan would have to abort his contract 1 year early, and there's always the possibility that Austin Dillon could come in and swipe his ride. But who knows??? Smith seems happy with where he's at. But I think so much more could be in store for him with a different ride.

What do you think Regan's future career holds??? He's already proven his talent as a driver, but should he re-sign in 2012 or move on??? I know that's a long way away, but he could also leave early or completely re-sign in the coming months.

Going to RCR would be a huge mistake, where does he go then if Austin pops up in 2013? Also, he's under contract-he is legally responsible to fulfill it. The only way he could walk away from it is if FR lets him, or retire for 2012, and I just don't see either happening at all. Why would he want to at this point? He has a full time ride in a sport where they are VERY hard to come by.
