Looks like I was right. Matt Kenseth is taking his final bow. It really suck to see yet another star have his career conclude, but that's how it must be. Why really bites the most is 2013, which was by far, his greatest season. Looking back, it would've been amazing to see him break through and overcome the then 5-time champ, Jimmie Johnson.
Matt always stood out to me as a really likable driver, even if he wasn't one of my guys. He did an incredible job during his career, 2003 being one of the only seasons I can ever imagine a champion without winning a single race (but that never happened because of Vegas), the aforementioned 2013 season, where he got 7 wins, 2012 when he finally won the Daytona 500, and others.
It's been a long ride for him, and he had a very nice future ahead of him. The best thing is, that much like Gordon, he still is very strong. Maybe he can pull off a last win before season's end. It can happen.
Thank you, Kenseth.
